ebecca and Olivia looked into the distance each, with their own thoughts.  Finally Olivia broke the silence.  "You think they're going to make it?  A dragon is whole lot tougher then an Ogre will ever be."

Rebecca shook her head, "I honestly don't know.  I pray that they'll make it.  The little sorceress should be able to make the fight more equal, but...she's still only a child."

Her middle daughter spoke, "Well, she sounded like she knew what she was doing."

Olivia and Rebecca looked at each other, then laughed.  "She's a sorceress dear, a sorceress and a skunk, that simply screams self confidence," Olivia quickly explained.

The youngest daughter piped, "Something is approaching fast...a knight on a horse?"

Rebecca squinted her eyes.  "No, more like a ferret on a donkey."

The Queen blinked her eyes.  "It might be problems, get ready you lot."

Rebecca and her daughters quickly moved to each other for protection, while the Queen moved in front of them, holding the staff ready Kamida left behind.

Quicksilver moved with lightning speed until he saw the small group, then slowed down and walked toward the group.  "Greetings your majesty, we finally found you!  Your husband will be so pleased.  The whole kingdom, every soldier, is looking for you ever since your disappearance a few day's ago, and it is fortunate that we finally found you."

Blackfoot bowed toward the Queen with a smile, "My liege."

The ferret queen looked curious.  "You're not coming from the direction of our kingdom?"

The Donkey smiled, "We are part of a small group of scouts.  Please follow us and we'll take you and your companions back to safety."

The Queen took a step forward and curiously examined the donkey and the ferret on his back, then stepped back and whispered something to Rebecca.  The Queen smiled to the donkey and ferret...then moved with dazzling speed, knocking the ferret off the donkey's back with the quarter-staff, hitting his side.  The ferret queen spun around then hit Blackfoot on the back of his head, knocking him out cold.

At the same time all three of the chipmunk girls pounced the donkey.  Rebecca grabbed his neck, then reached towards his head with her free hand and grabbed his mouth, then planted her nails into his lips and twisted them.

The Donkey winced in pain, "Not the face!"

Rebecca's daughters went for the Donkey's legs and tried to pull them inward; trying to make him lose his balance.

The Queen saw what both girls tried to do and reacted quickly, she started to run, then planted her staff in the ground and went into a flying leap, kicking the donkey in his side, knocking him to the ground.  The girls quickly grabbed his front legs while Rebecca held his neck and face.

Quicksilver panicked and tried to crawl from under the chippette's.  "Let me go!   You're making a mistake!"

Olivia quickly checked the unconscious ferret, then she turned around, her eyes where filled with anger.  "Do you really think we where that easy to fool?  You might look different without your bells, your painted face and your absurd clothes...but you still smell like an ass to me, jester!"

Quicksilver's eyes grew large with fear as the ferret queen growled, "You really forgot that ferrets, as predatory species, have a much better sense of smell did you?  You thought you could just walk up to me and lead me into whatever trap you have set up?  Think again!"  Rebecca held the Donkey's neck and face.  "Okay bad-joke of a jester; why are you here?"

The Donkey brawled, "I told you, the King ordered me to get you back to the castle!

Olivia nodded, "Sure funny?  Hmmm, you didn't even question any of these chipmunks motives?  You didn't even wonder if they might have been the ones who kidnapped me?  You knew they where my companions."

The Donkey started to struggle again, then gave up, unable to get back onto his feet.   Quicksilver decided to change tactics.  "Look!" he asked, "could you three please give me some room to move here?  Not that I don't like the attention of women-folk, but hey, even my admirers at the castle where not behaving like a bunch of cling-on groupies like you lot!"

Rebecca grinned, "Sure."  Then she took out a small piece of vine and tapped the ground with it.  Within seconds its white roots dug itself into the ground.  A few moments passed while Rebecca's daughters quickly hopped off the pinned down donkey.

Quicksilver grinned and looked past the elder chippette, ready to bolt.  Then thick white roots jumped out of the ground and wrapped around him, pulling him and the unconscious ferret down against the ground, pinning them.  The Donkey brawled, "Oh thanks a lot, instead of a ton of rodents, I now have a ton of plant over me.  What an improvement!"

Rebecca smiled, "Tangle root, never leave home without it."

The youngest chipmunk stared to Quicksilver’s front leg that was stickling out of the white mass of tangled roots and donkey.  "He's wearing a bracelet.  Just like Kamida!  Only this one is green!

Quicksilver tried to pull in his leg in vain, then shook his head.  "Oy!  Here now kid; that bracelet is mine.  Nothing special about it.  I just happen to like it, okay?"

The Queen looked over Rebecca's shoulder.  "An apprentice control bracelet!  So he was the one who controlled Kamida's magic."

"I did not," the Donkey brayed.  "Well...never got the change," he muttered.   Looking up as he saw the Queen's expression.  "It was the Ogre, okay?  He gave her the bracelet!"

"He gave her the first bracelet," Rebecca corrected Quicksilver.  "You decided to add your own bracelet on top of the bracelet she already wore, right?!  Or did your ferret companion do it for you."

The Queen looked at the donkey.  "What on this world where you thinking!  That bracelet the girl had was unstable enough by its own.  Adding that could have had grave consequences for her."

"Okay, hand it over," Rebecca simply demanded.

The donkey looked balefully at the elder female, then sighed.  "Fine take it."   He whispered a command word and the bracelet widened until it had enough room to slide off his front leg.

The elderly chipmunk carefully examined the bracelet.  "This thing has been touched by a Unicorn recently."

Olivia looked up.  "You think it was done by White Pony?" she asked; then looked scornfully at the donkey.

The elderly chipmunk shook her head.  "I can feel Unicorn Magic; but I have no idea which Unicorn did it.  It might have been Kathy."  Rebecca examined the bracelet once more then simply moved it over her arm; causing alarmed shrieks from her two daughters.  She calmed them down, "Do not worry.  I've used one of these before.  Lets see."  The chipette closed her eyes and reached out to the bracelet's magic.  "It's here somewhere.  Come on...where?  Found it!"  Then she stepped back in shock.  "This thing is not controlling the skunkette.  It's controlling the Red Dragon!!"

Rebecca looked at the pinned down donkey, who seemed to be just as shocked as she was.   "This is news to me too," he said and looked a little insulted at the older chipmunk's skeptical face.  "Look, if I had a dragon at my disposal, would I have gotten through the problems of taking you lot hostage?" the Donkey asked.  Then bit his tongue as he suddenly realized that he admitted what he was up to.

Olivia looked to the elder chipmunk, "Congratulations madam, you have a dragon.  What are you going to do with it?"

Both the young chippetes talked nearly at the same time.  "Tell it to go away!" one of them said.  "No, tell him to jump into the canyon without using his wings!" the other one piped.

Rebecca shook her head.  "That would be pointless.  Besides, I can't order him to kill himself.  I want answers."

The second oldest daughter suddenly realized what her mother was going to do.  "Do you think it will answer your questions, or even tell the truth?"

The elder chippette started to concentrate, then looked up with a smile, into the direction where Quicksilver and Blackfoot came from.  After a few minutes a small red dot appeared on the horizon,  It grew larger and larger until finally the contours of a red dragon could be seen clearly.

The Red Dragon winged around the small group, then carefully landed in front of them.   Stan bowed down to Rebecca. "Yes, Mistress?"
