Q
uicksilver scowled into the mirror.   He was once again in the Vizier's study, and he was clearly unhappy about what he saw.

"Thank you very much, mirror, for that enlightening scene.  However, I would very much like you to show me what really happened.  That thing the Chipmunk slayed never existed, did it?"

The corpse in the scene disappeared.

"The dragon knows all the creatures who live near the castle.  Don't try to fool me with false images.  Show me what really happened after the skunk rejoined them.   Besides, I know that was unnatural behavior for them all."

A groan of twisting metal came from the frame around the mirror, and a thin crack appeared at the edge.  Quicksilver started, then watched it as it grew, just fast enough to be percievable.  If the crack crossed the mirror, its bewitchment would be broken forever.

"You wouldn't dare!" He demanded.

The mirror replied by showing him an image of a bear in a green hat eating a donkey.   In the background was the mirror, shattered.  Another crack appeared near the top.

"Yes, and if he finds out you helped me, he'll shatter you himself.  Now, show me what happend."

The image of the bear disappeared, but the cracks grew faster.

"He's not even a true mage," Quicksilver shrieked. "He was a gardener, who happened to drop a chocolate seed in his garden as a child!  He has no magic blood!"

A third crack grew from the lower right corner.  The three cracks inched toward the middle, as the sound of grinding metal grew louder.  In each section of the mirror (for the cracks would soon touch, divided the mirror into three parts) were ways in which the bear would avenge his broken mirror.

"I'm calling your bluff-- not only is he a charlatan, but he's a pacifist."

The mirror showed him a troop of soldiers with a red dragon crest on their breastplates.  All of them were dead.  The mirror then flashed the document which Quicksilver himself had signed, approving the deadly potion the bear had concocted which killed them.  The cracks were almost touching.

Quicksilver panicked. "All right, all right!"  His voice was so high that it came out as more of a whisper than a cry.  "I'll find out on my own."

The cracks stopped growing.  Quicksilver stormed out of the lab.  As the door slammed to, the mirror drooped and wavered, its surface becoming liquid.  A swirling motion appeared and the cracks healed themselves.

Safely away from the group, a unicron paused and smiled.  He shook out his dark crimson mane, and cantered up a deer-path that led to the castle.  As he creseted a rise, he met a raven giving him a curious stare.  "Yes, you can help me.  Take this message to Quicksilver at the King's castle."  He leaned towards the bird and whispered, his hot breath ruffling jet black wing feathers.  Finishing, he stepped back again.   "The unicorn among them seems...odd.  She cast a food-spell that conjured something I've never seen in this realm before.  I suspect she is not from our world.  Perhaps she climed a chocolate-beanstalk?  Inform him to meet the Giant Ogre at the castle as soon as possible."  He watched the bird fly away above the treetops, then cantered himself down into the next vale, continuing along the secret path to the castle.
