Unicorn Lost

Presents

T	he young skunk girl continues to eat the chocolate that she picks from the beanstalk, dropping the leaf-like wrappers on the ground where they collect into a small pile.

A strange awareness suddenly comes over her, it's as if everything is a lot more beautiful. A bright beam of light coming from above her head seems to make the grass more green, the flowers more fragrant and colourful and to fill the air with happiness and joy. The little skunk looks around and notices several creatures around the circle of light she's in. A wolf looking at her from the safety of the foliage, a chameleon that perched itself on the side of a tree, even a bat, circling around in a wide circle.

The young skunk looks up to the sky where beams of light pour through holes in the clouds. The beams of light seem to hit random spots in the landscape, instantly creating a small oasis of peace and happiness where they hit the ground. The young skunk looks towards the closest spot of light and sees creatures moving, drawn towards it in curious wonder. After a while the beams of light fade away and the world becomes normal again, except for the giant beanstalk that can be seen for miles around.

The little skunk looks up to the beanstalk and thinks for a few seconds, then she places her foot on the lowest branch and starts to climb. Fueled by the magical chocolate she climbs, higher and higher up the beanstalk, into the clouds.

Suddenly and without warning her surroundings change, she stops climbing and looks down. Instead of the world below with the small garden there now is a rainbow coloured floor. The little skunk looks down towards the base of the beanstalk and sees a ring of white smoke between it and the rainbow coloured floor, about two feet wide. She looks around the area and sees a rainbow plain, stretching out as far as the eye can see, covered with patches of rainbow coloured flowers and gem-like Butterflies dancing in the air above them.

The skunk girl hops off the beanstalk, onto the floor made of rainbows, then looks to the jewelled Butterflies and the flowers and smiles when she sees that the flowers are made out of gems, just like the Butterflies.

The young skunk curiously reaches towards the flower and folds her fingers around it, then lets go of the flower and pulls back her hand, "I can't do that. Daddy said I should always ask permission before I pick flowers or the fairies that live in them would be sad." She curiously touches it again with a finger and the flower gem makes a soft sound, like crystals softly tingling against each other.

The little skunk scampers back onto her feet and looks around a little until she realises something, the Hyena lady is no where to be seen! While she is wondering what to do next a jewel flower suddenly starts to chime, it moves from side to side as if pulled by an invisible hand then it moves into the air and towards the young skunk. The young skunk looks surprised at the flower coming towards her and instinctually moves her hand upwards, then the flower softly falls into her hand, a powerful yet softly spoken voice speaks to her, "Because you remembered that you should always ask permission and because you where considerate to others, I'm giving you this flower. Keep it close, you never know when it might come in handy."

The young skunk blushes a little, then smiles. "Thank you!"

The voice softly chuckles, "You are very welcome little one, now, go and find your friend, she is not too far ahead of you. She went that way." As soon as the voice said, "That way," a blue arrow appears out of nowhere, and pointed towards a town of some sort in the distance.

The little skunk looks around a little then gives up looking for the invisible creature, she waves into the direction where she thinks the voice came from then starts to walk towards the town.

When she is out of sight a majestic figure slowly comes back into view, it looks into the direction where the Unicorn/Hyena and skunk girl disappeared into and softly smiles to itself, "good luck on your quest little ones."
